In today’s world, many people choose to express themselves through tattoos. Intricate and unique designs have become incredibly popular. However, there’s typically a limit to how far people will go with their body art. Ethan, on the other hand, pushed far beyond that limit, covering nearly every inch of his body in tattoos.
Ethan’s journey into body modification began when he was just 11 years old. His first step was stretching his ears, but that was only the beginning. Over the years, he underwent various extreme procedures, including splitting his tongue and even removing his belly button. However, it’s his tattoos that have garnered the most attention—after all, he’s covered head to toe in them. By his own estimation, Ethan has spent around $60,000 AUD (about $39,000 USD) to achieve his striking appearance.
But now, Ethan is experiencing a change of heart regarding some of his past choices.
“I guess you could say I regret some tattoos,” Ethan admitted during an interview with LadBibleTV’s No Filter series. “It’s not just regret; there’s a difference between regret and wanting to be perceived differently.”
One of Ethan’s biggest concerns is the potential judgment he might face in everyday situations, such as taking his young daughter to school. “The face is a big thing that can lead to so many problems—for some people, not everyone—which I probably wouldn’t want my daughter to have to deal with until she was a bit older,” he explained. “I wish that I had not gone as hectic as I did on my face.”
To improve his appearance and ease some of his anxiety, Ethan has begun the process of removing some of his tattoos, particularly those on his face. He has been undergoing laser surgery for about a year, having the tattoos removed in sections. “I’ve probably gone over the full thing six or seven times,” he shared. “I started getting it done because of the anxiety and stuff I was getting… Mental stuff is a funny thing to pin down, but I want to think that a lot of the anxiety was from just having a face full of tattoos.”
Despite his regrets, Ethan remains content with his decision to start fresh. “I’m happy with the way that I look, but I’m also happy with the mentality that over the next two years, my face tattoos are going to become less and less and less. I’m just clearing the canvas,” he said.
